How is Child Support calculated?
Child Support is generally governed by the California State Guidelines. The factors used in the calculations include, among other factors, both parents' gross incomes, percentage the child(ren) spends with each parent and cost of health insurance.
How do I enforce an existing Child Support Order?
You collect the monthly Child Support payment by either serving a Wage Assignment on the payee's employer, or, if they are self-employed or unemployed file an Order To Show Cause in re Contempt, if they fail to pay timely and consistently on their own.
